Skin

The Feverish Skin smart material was perfect for my character, as it was similar to my inspiration for the skin. I had experimented with the masks and colours to have a skin I was happy with and felt like it fit my character. It looks unnatural, which fits my characters appearance. Additionally, I used Tri-planar projection on each material, to make sure any seams were not visible on the model.

Claws and Teeth

I had used the Creature Teeth smart material to texture the claws, toes and teeth. This material gave a worn down texture, alongside a rotted bone material. I chose this material because the texture was a good fit for my characters claws, teeth and toes, as the character has been alive for centuries.

Accessories and Clothes

As my character had been alive for centuries, I wanted the shirt and trousers to be worn down, tattered and dirty, from the times Ndolu had been among Earth. I chose to use the Fabric Linen Worn smart material for both the shirt and trousers and change their properties to make them unique. This material also allowed me to edit the extra details, such as the dirt, creases and pattern of the fabric.

Trousers Material

I wanted the collar to appear like a piece of torn fabric which has been placed around the neck. The Fabric Baseball Hat smart material was a good choice for this object, as the wrapped texture appeared like it had been ripped. Further experimentation with the material allowed me to personalise it to my vision.

Collar Material

Similar to the skin, I chose the Feverish Skin smart material. This is because the fingers have been rotting away for centuries and have gathered mould and decomposed after this length of time. I made them green and grungy to reflect this rotting process.

Eyes

For the eyes, I wanted a simple red glow to them, as I wanted the character to have soulless look. Using a fill layer for the eyes was perfect for my vision, as the eyes remained demonic and had a faint glow.
